As a Merchandiser, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing merchandising strategies that enhance product visibility and drive sales for our retail clients. Your primary goal will be to ensure that the right products are available in the right stores at the right time. You will do this by collaborating with suppliers, analyzing sales trends, and managing inventory levels. You will work closely with buyers and suppliers to ensure that the product range meets the needs of the market while maximizing profitability. Excellent communication skills and a deep understanding of consumer trends and retail operations are essential for success in this role. You will be expected to work analytically to understand market dynamics and strategically to optimize merchandising across the board.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement merchandising strategies that align with company goals and objectives.
Analyze sales trends to forecast future demand and optimize inventory management.
Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and conditions for product procurement.
Monitor product performance and adjust merchandising strategies to maximize sales and profitability.
Plan and oversee in-store displays and layout designs to enhance visual appeal.
Conduct market research to stay informed of industry trends and consumer needs.
Coordinate with retail store teams to ensure proper product placement and promotion.
Work closely with buyers to select a product mix that meets market demands and profitability.
Prepare regular reports on merchandising performance and present findings to management.
Manage budget allocations to ensure effective and efficient use of resources.
Develop promotional strategies to support product launches and seasonal campaigns.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all merchandising activities.
Requirements:
Proven experience in merchandising or a related field of retail management.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex sales data.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities to work with suppliers effectively.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
Proficiency in merchandising software and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments within fast-paced environments.
Strong understanding of consumer behavior and market dynamics in the retail sector.
Proven working experience in merchandising
Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
Up-to-date with the latest merchandising trends and best practices
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Strong listening, presentation and decision making skills
