Job Description

The Logistics Coordinator plays a pivotal role in streamlining supply chain operations, ensuring that goods move swiftly and efficiently from point A to point B. This position is at the heart of the logistics team, pivotal for coordinating activities that guarantee the smooth flow of products throughout the distribution network. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the transportation and delivery of goods to ensure timely arrival.
  • Maintain and update inventory records to track the status of shipments accurately.
  • Communicate with suppliers, carriers, and customers to resolve any logistical issues.
  • Develop strategic logistics plans to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation laws and regulations.
  • Analyze logistical problems and develop and implement solutions accordingly.
  • Monitor logistics performance metrics and prepare regular reports for management.
  • Work closely with the warehouse team to optimize storage and distribution strategies.
  • Negotiate contracts with transportation and freight service providers.
  • Provide training and support to new logistics staff as needed.
  • Manage and schedule all inbound and outbound shipment activities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the logistics department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in logistics coordination or a similar role is required.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics software systems and their applications.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact with stakeholders effectively.
  • Ability to multitask and manage various logistics operations simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve logistical issues.
  • Understanding of compliance regulations related to transportation and logistics.
