Job Description

As an Applied Behaviour Analyst (ABA), you will play a critical role in assessing, designing, and implementing personalized behaviour intervention plans for individuals of varying needs. Your primary goal is to improve social, communication, and learning skills through positive reinforcement techniques. This role requires a deep understanding of behavioural principles and the ability to apply them effectively in educational, therapeutic, or community settings. You'll be working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, which may include teachers, psychologists, and family members, to ensure that each plan is tailored to the individual's goals and capabilities. The success of your interventions will help individuals achieve greater independence and improved quality of life.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive behavioural assessments to understand individuals' specific needs and challenges.
  • Develop and implement tailored behaviour intervention plans that target key areas of improvement.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure cohesive and comprehensive care strategies.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices and data-driven methods to guide intervention planning.
  • Monitor and evaluate individuals' progress, making modifications to plans as required.
  • Train caregivers and family members on behaviour intervention techniques and reinforcement strategies.
  • Provide direct therapy sessions with individuals to model and reinforce positive behaviours.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation of behaviour assessments and treatment plans.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay updated on ABA practices and research findings.
  • Maintain ethical standards and confidentiality in line with professional guidelines.
  • Consult with educators and support staff to integrate ABA strategies into educational settings.
  • Advocate for individuals' needs and promote an inclusive environment that supports their development.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis or a related field is required.
  • BCBA certification is essential, with licensure in the relevant state or region.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing ABA therapy plans effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret behavioural data and adjust interventions accordingly.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in documentation and report writing to maintain accurate client records.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and staying current with ABA methodologies and research.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information ethically and maintain client confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a passion for helping individuals reach their full potential.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate clients' and families' schedules.
