Media Relations Specialist

Establish & Maintain

• Develop a thorough understanding and knowledge of clients business and their competitive environment
• Obtain, develop, and maintain strong and effective media relations with local and international media
• Suggest media presence for clients in general features prepared by media outlets that serves in the client industry domain
• Maintain smart-friendly and approachable attitude towards clients and media personnel
• Perform client and media background research
• Providing on-ground media relations assistance for coverage of ongoing events
• Research media and develop creative story angels / news hooks to secure press
  
  

Coordinate and Execute

• Review and distribute a full range of written materials including press releases, newsletters, media invites, articles, client correspondence and reports
• Ensure strong follow-up for the best news coverage with the support of Media Relations Director
• Being proactive with the assigned clients through monthly plans
• Lead responsibility for daily news coverage
• Leading projects of different scales from initiating to completion
• Prepare a monthly report that contains all interview requests for clients
  
  

Requirements

• Degree in marketing, communications, journalism or relevant field
• 2-3 years experience working in a Media Relations role or in Public Relations.
• Must possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with strong writing and editorial abilities.
• Highly organized with the ability to multitask.
• Must possess strong project management skills.
• Must be able to meet tight deadlines and execute flawlessly on projects in a fast-paced, often pressured environment and see a project through to completion.
• Must have the ability to be an influential communications consultant within the organization.
