Sous Chef - International Cuisine

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The Sous Chef will support the Executive Chef in kitchen operations, staff management, and menu development, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety in a fast-paced, multi-cuisine environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Executive Chef in planning menus and developing recipes for international cuisine.
• Oversee food preparation and cooking activities in assigned stations.
• Ensure all dishes meet quality and presentation standards before service.
• Supervise and train kitchen staff, maintaining discipline and professionalism.
• Monitor food costs and minimize waste while maintaining quality.
• Ensure strict compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Manage kitchen inventory and coordinate with suppliers.
• Work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization according to health regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of professional kitchen experience, with at least 2 years in a Sous Chef or similar supervisory role.
• Proven expertise in international cuisine, including European, Asian, and Middle Eastern cooking techniques.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and kitchen safety standards.
• Experience in high-volume food service establishments.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Physical ability to work in a hot kitchen environment for extended periods.
• Valid food handling and health and safety certifications.
• Knowledge of HACCP and food hygiene practices.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working in UAE hospitality industry.
• Familiarity with local ingredients and cultural dining preferences in the UAE.
• Ability to work with diverse, multicultural kitchen teams.
• Understanding of local customs and respect for cultural practices during operations.
