Job Description

The Workshop Planner for Automotive 10N25 plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of automobile workshops. This position involves organizing and coordinating various activities to enhance productivity, reduce downtime, and ensure that clients' vehicles are serviced promptly. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with mechanics, clients, and other stakeholders. The Workshop Planner is responsible for creating schedules, managing resources, and overseeing the workflow to meet the demands of the workshop. By optimizing processes and ensuring the availability of necessary tools and parts, the Workshop Planner contributes significantly to customer satisfaction and overall success of the workshop operations.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement schedules to ensure timely servicing of vehicles in the workshop.
  • Coordinate with mechanics to assign tasks in accordance with their skills and workloads.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure availability of necessary tools and parts for repairs.
  • Communicate with clients to schedule appointments and inform them of service progress.
  • Oversee quality control processes to ensure high standards of workmanship are maintained.
  • Manage resource allocation to enhance efficiency and reduce vehicle service turnaround time.
  • Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used in each vehicle repair.
  • Resolve any workflow bottlenecks that may arise, ensuring service deadlines are met.
  • Provide regular reports on workshop productivity and areas needing improvement.
  • Coordinate training sessions for mechanics to keep them updated on best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and government-required standards.
  • Communicate effectively with the workshop team to promote a harmonious working environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in an automotive workshop setting.
  • Proven planning and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and staff.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities promptly.
  • Proficiency in using workshop management software and other relevant tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capability to handle stressful scenarios.
  • Strong understanding of automotive systems, repairs, and service processes.
