Job Description

A Warehouse Assistant is a crucial role in maintaining the efficient operation of a warehouse. This position involves a combination of physical tasks, inventory management, and coordination responsibilities to ensure smooth logistical activities. Warehouse Assistants play a significant part in organizing goods, maintaining a high standard of accuracy in inventory control, and contributing to the overall workflow of the warehouse. Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming shipments and review contents against purchase orders.
  • Organize and store incoming goods according to organizational standards.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch to customers or branches.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management software.
  • Inspect goods for defects or damages and report any discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with logistics providers for shipment collections and deliveries.
  • Perform routine cycle counts and report any inventory discrepancies.
  • Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, and adheres to safety standards.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, safely and efficiently.
  • Assist in loading and unloading delivery vehicles as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize storage and order flow.
  • Assist in implementing and enhancing warehouse and logistics processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification required.
  • Prior experience in a warehouse environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail needed.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary for managing inventory systems.
  • Physically capable of standing, walking, and lifting heavy objects.
  • Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and coordination.
  • Certification for operating forklifts or other warehouse machinery is a plus.
