Job Description

The Senior Credit Manager plays a critical role in managing and overseeing the credit operations within an organization. This position is responsible for assessing and approving credit applications, setting credit policies, and minimizing financial risks while maximizing revenue opportunities. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in credit management, and the ability to lead and develop a team of credit analysts. This position requires detailed insight into financial statements and market conditions, strong decision-making capabilities, and excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with clients and cross-functional teams. The Senior Credit Manager must be adept at using financial software and tools and possess a strategic mindset to drive the success of the company through effective credit management.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire credit granting process, including credit assessment and loan approval.
  • Develop, implement, and review credit policies and procedures of the organization.
  • Lead and mentor a team of credit analysts and assistant credit managers.
  • Perform detailed risk assessment and analysis on potential and existing clients.
  • Negotiate the terms and conditions of credit facilities with clients.
  • Evaluate the financial performance of clients using financial statements and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements in credit operations.
  • Prepare credit management reports for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with sales and operations teams to drive growth and minimize credit risk.
  • Maintain relations with clients and monitor their financial transactions regularly.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and streamline credit processes and systems.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations for credit risk management initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in credit management or a related role.
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience in assessing financial statements.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience leading a team of professionals.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively and manage client relationships successfully.
  • Proficient in financial software tools and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective credit policies and strategies.
