Job Description

A Warehouse Assistant is a critical member of the logistics and supply chain operations team, responsible for ensuring the efficient management and organization of inventory within a warehouse. They play a pivotal role in maintaining smooth and effective warehouse operations, thereby contributing to the overall success of the company’s distribution activities. The Warehouse Assistant works closely with warehouse supervisors and other team members to perform daily tasks that support the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and timeliness are paramount. The role not only involves the physical handling and movement of products but also significant interaction with inventory management systems, ensuring that stock levels are recorded accurately. Responsibilities

  • Receive and process incoming stock and materials according to company policies.
  • Assist in the preparation and completion of orders for delivery or pickup.
  • Perform inventory controls and maintain a high-quality standard in audits.
  • Coordinate the arrangement and storage of warehouse stock efficiently.
  • Utilize warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely.
  • Contribute to the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse space.
  • Report any discrepancies or issues with any warehouse-related activities.
  • Collaborate with warehouse managers to optimize workflow and processes.
  • Follow all safety policies and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Assist in loading and unloading delivery vehicles when necessary.
  • Keep track of all stock movements and update records accurately.
  • Participate in continuous training to enhance skills and warehouse operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualifications required.
  • Previous experience in warehouse settings preferred, with relevant skills.
  • Ability to operate warehouse machinery such as a forklift or pallet jack.
  • Strong attention to detail and capability to perform accurate inventory audits.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with others.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory management and data entry tasks.
  • Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy equipment and loads safely.
