Job Title: VM & Retail Design Manager

Contract - 6 months - For Maternity coverage

Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a passion for visual merchandising and retail design. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of production processes, materials, and industry standards. They should be able to work independently, manage multiple, simultaneous projects, and meet tight deadlines.

While experience is valuable, we are also open to considering talented individuals with less experience who demonstrate a strong aptitude for the role.

Main Responsibilities

The VM & Retail Design Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of visual merchandising and retail design across the GCC region. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with strong project management and communication skills. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring brand consistency and optimizing the in-store customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visual Merchandising & Design:
  • Manage the design, production and renovation of new furniture, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to the highest quality standards.
  • Oversee the entire project logistics process across the GCC, including shipping, customs clearance, mall permits, and installations.
  • Coordinate effectively with suppliers, distributors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Liaise with retailers to facilitate fixture relocations as needed.
  • Maintain the integrity of all counter fixtures and ensure strict adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of all store fixtures and their locations.
  • Conduct regular store visits to assess visual merchandising standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct regular fixture maintenance
  • Design, production and updating of permanent VM elements in stores
  • Retail Design:
    • Design free standing stores (from zoning to space planning to 3D iterations)
    • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to develop an impactful, commercially driven concept
    • Develop drawing packs: concept pack; design drawings; and issued for construction drawings
    • Review tender documents and track brand expenditure contributions
    • Liaise with projects team for all mall and authority approvals during project timeline
    • Constant site visits & hands on project management during construction phase
    • Design and production of bespoke VM requirements
    • Cost Optimization & Budget Management:
      • Obtain competitive quotations from suppliers.
      • Raise Purchase Orders (POs) and track project budgets meticulously.
      • Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the most favorable pricing and optimize project costs.
      • Contribute to the development and management of the overall VM budget.
    Profile

    Essential Skills:

    • 6-7 years of relevant experience in Visual Merchandising, Retail Design, or a related field.
    • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
    • In-depth understanding of production processes, materials, and industry best practices.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
    • Proven experience in working with suppliers and manufacturers effectively.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
    • Proficiency in English.

    Preferred Skills

    • Proficiency in design software such as Photoshop and AutoCAD.
    • Prior experience in the beauty industry.
    • A degree in Interior Design, Visual Merchandising, or a related field.
    • A valid drivers license.
