Responsibilities

• Review raw footage to determine the shot list and required edits.
• Collaborate with directors and producers to understand project scope and objectives.
• Edit video segments in a way that enhances the narrative and visual style.
• Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film.
• Insert music, dialogues, graphics, and effects to complement storytelling.
• Contribute to the development of video concepts and storylines.
• Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running of the video production.
• Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry best practices.
• Organize and manage video projects and ensure deadlines are met consistently.
• Perform color grading and audio editing to ensure high-quality output.
• Coordinate with sound editors and visual designers to improve video quality.
• Achieve desired visual effects and provide oversight on all projects.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a video editor or a similar role in production.
• Proficient in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
• Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages.
• Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong video portfolio.
• Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, continuity, and visual storytelling.
• Familiarity with special effects, 3D, and compositing is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
