Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with medical and surgical procedures using best practices.
• Monitor and record vital signs of animals under veterinary supervision.
• Provide compassionate nursing care for hospitalized animal patients.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
• Educate pet owners on proper animal care and post-operative procedures.
• Maintain clean and organized work and animal treatment areas.
• Prepare animals and instruments for surgical procedures and examinations.
• Operate and maintain veterinary equipment and diagnostic machines effectively.
• Assist in laboratory work, including sample collection and processing.
• Perform physical examinations and some diagnostic tests on animal patients.
• Ensure all patient records are properly updated and maintained accurately.
• Support veterinarians in euthanasia procedures with empathy and professionalism.

Requirements

• A diploma or degree in Veterinary Nursing or a related field is required.
• Must have a valid Veterinary Nursing license or certification for practice.
• Have at least 2 years of experience working in a veterinary practice.
• Proficient in veterinary software and electronic health records management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with clients.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, if needed.
• Comfortable working with a variety of animal species and temperament.
