Job Description

The Transport Coordinator is an essential component of the logistics and supply chain operations of a company. This professional is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing efficient transportation systems to ensure the seamless movement of goods and materials. The Transport Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring timely deliveries while minimizing costs and adhering to safety regulations. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the transportation operations to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with all transportation-related regulations and standards.
  • Liaise with carriers and transport companies to schedule shipments and deliveries.
  • Support the logistics team in resolving any issues related to transportation delays or disruptions.
  • Maintain and update records of all shipping documentation and transportation activities.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse team to optimize loading and unloading operations.
  • Analyze transportation data to identify trends and suggest improvements.
  • Ensure that safety procedures are followed during all transportation operations.
  • Communicate with clients to provide updates on shipment status and delivery times.
  • Assist in the development of transportation budgets and managing expenses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a transportation or logistics role.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics software applications.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to improve operations.
  • Understanding of transportation laws and adherence to regulatory guidelines is crucial.
