Job Description

As a Teller, you will be at the forefront of the customer service experience within a financial institution. Your primary role is to facilitate the smooth processing of various daily banking tasks while ensuring that customers receive a high level of service. You will perform transactions with precision and accuracy, answer account-related inquiries, and respond to customer concerns promptly and courteously. Working closely with customers to provide them with information concerning their accounts or the bank's services, you'll need to uphold the institution's standards for customer service and ensure that every individual who walks through the door feels valued and respected. Additionally, a critical part of your role includes maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with all bank policies and regulations. Your keen attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently will contribute significantly to the seamless functioning of the bank's daily operations.


Responsibilities

  • Process cash, check, and electronic transactions efficiently and accurately for customers daily.
  • Resolve basic issues related to accounts, billing statements, or suspicious account activity professionally.
  • Assist with managing customers' accounts, answering account-related queries with clarity and patience.
  • Maintain customer confidentiality by adhering to bank policies and ensuring secure handling of personal data.
  • Provide information and assistance regarding different banking products and services to clients.
  • Ensure the teller station is operationally safe and organized at all times to enhance efficiency.
  • Identify customer needs by listening proactively and recommending suitable banking products or services.
  • Contribute to team effort by achieving individual and branch targets and goals consistently.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while addressing customers' concerns and escalating as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required for teller position applications.
  • Previous cash handling experience is preferred to demonstrate competence in financial operations.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills are necessary for processing banking transactions accurately.
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively assist and engage with diverse customer needs.
  • Proficiency in operating standard computer software and banking systems is required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods while assisting customers at the teller station.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in verifying and processing financial documents and requests.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours.
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing training to stay updated with financial regulations and policies.
  • Must have the capacity to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical banking standards.
