Technical Engineer - Mechanical

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Engineer – Mechanical to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience, with a strong background in mechanical systems and a proven track record of working in UAE-based contracting firms. You will be responsible for handling all technical aspects of mechanical systems in large-scale construction projects, ensuring design coordination, compliance with project specifications, authority requirements, and smooth execution on-site.

Key Responsibilities

Review and interpret mechanical design drawings, specifications, and BOQs for HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, and other mechanical systems.

Coordinate with consultants, architects, structural, and electrical teams to ensure design compatibility and resolve technical issues.

Prepare and review shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings in line with project requirements and local authority standards.

Ensure compliance with project specifications, local codes (DM, DEWA, DCD, etc.), and international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, etc.).

Support the construction team with technical guidance during installation and commissioning stages.

Handle material submittals, method statements, RFIs, and other project documentation.

Liaise with procurement to ensure the correct materials and equipment are ordered and delivered as per project timelines.

Attend site meetings, technical workshops, and coordination meetings with consultants and clients.

Assist in authority approvals and ensure documentation meets all regulatory compliance.

Provide technical support in value engineering and project optimization where required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum 8 years of experience, with at least 5 years in contracting firms in the UAE.

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems for high-rise buildings, commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments.

Proficient in AutoCAD and other mechanical design software (e.g., HAP, DuctSizer, PipeSizer, Revit MEP is a plus).

Familiarity with UAE authority regulations (Dubai Municipality, DCD, DEWA, ADDC, etc.).

Strong technical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
