Job Description

The role of a Supply Chain Officer is critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a company's supply chain processes. This professional is responsible for coordinating and managing the flow of goods and materials from suppliers to final customers. They play a vital role in planning, implementing, and monitoring supply chain strategies, aiming to improve productivity, reduce costs, and ensure product quality. The Supply Chain Officer must have strong analytical skills to assess supply chain data and optimize workflow efficiency. Communication is also key, as the role involves liaison with various departments, suppliers, and customers to meet demand forecasting, inventory management, and logistic requirements. Responsibilities

  • Develop supply chain strategies to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Coordinate logistics activities to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts and agreements.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock levels are maintained.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential sources and best pricing for goods.
  • Collaborate with production departments to establish weekly and monthly supply plans.
  • Oversee the ordering process to ensure timely and accurate procurement of supplies.
  • Analyze supply chain data to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational policies.
  • Report on supply chain performance metrics to the management team regularly.
  • Resolve any supply chain issues and complaints within an appropriate time frame.
  • Prepare forecasts and budgets to support strategic supply chain planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in supply chain or logistics roles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for this position.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for supplier management.
  • Proficiency in supply chain software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for inventory management.
