Job Description

The Structural Design Engineer will play a crucial role in the design and analysis of building and civil structures. This position involves converting architectural plans into detailed structural designs, ensuring safety, performance, and sustainability. The engineer will collaborate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget. This role requires a deep understanding of engineering principles, strong problem-solving skills, and experience with design software such as AutoCAD and Revit. Responsibilities

  • Analyze architectural plans to develop structural design solutions compliant with local codes.
  • Prepare calculations and sketches to ensure structural integrity and project feasibility.
  • Collaborate with architects and other engineers to integrate structural systems seamlessly.
  • Utilize CAD software to create detailed structural drawings and blueprints.
  • Review and approve material specifications to ensure compatibility and safety.
  • Perform load calculations and stress analysis on various structural components.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and adherence to design.
  • Provide technical guidance and solutions during all phases of the construction project.
  • Coordinate with contractors and project managers to resolve design challenges.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies and materials in structural engineering field.
  • Ensure documentation and reports are accurately maintained and updated as required.
  • Participate in project meetings and present structural concepts and solutions effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, Master's preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in structural design and analysis of buildings.
  • Proficiency in design software like AutoCAD, Revit, and STAAD Pro.
  • Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience with load calculations and knowledge of building codes and standards.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills to liaise with multiple stakeholders.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain.
