Job Description

As a Store In Charge, you are responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations in a retail environment to ensure the smooth running of the store's activities. Your role will involve maintaining high levels of customer service, managing staff, ensuring the efficient running of the store, and achieving sales targets. You will also be responsible for maintaining inventory, ensuring the store's financial targets are met, and creating an environment that enhances both the customer and employee experience. Your leadership and organizational skills will be essential in motivating team members, resolving workplace issues smoothly, and ensuring high operational standards are maintained at all times.


Responsibilities

  • Manage daily store operations to ensure smooth business transactions and customer satisfaction.
  • Supervise and guide employees to align them with business goals and improve store performance.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent overstocking or running out of items.
  • Ensure merchandising standards are consistently applied to enhance product sales.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate policies and discuss operational issues.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints, providing satisfactory solutions promptly.
  • Operate the cash register, manage financial transactions, and prepare sales reports.
  • Monitor sales metrics and work to achieve store’s financial targets and growth objectives.
  • Train and develop staff to improve product knowledge and service delivery.
  • Ensure that the store environment is clean, safe, and presents a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Forecast staffing needs and schedule shifts to optimize workforce efficiency.
  • Implement marketing strategies and promotions to drive traffic and boost sales.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Store In Charge or similar management role in retail.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills to manage store activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively handle staff and customers.
  • Ability to meet sales targets and manage financial records accurately and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of inventory management software and point-of-sale systems is preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if necessary.
  • A diploma or degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
