Job Description

As a Stock Controller, you will play a vital role in ensuring efficient inventory management and maintaining optimal stock levels within our organization. You will be responsible for coordinating the supply chain operations, including procurement, storage, and distribution of goods. Your keen attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to anticipate the needs of the business will contribute significantly to the smooth operation of our inventory processes. You will collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate stock records, monitor stock levels, reduce discrepancies, and manage inventory flow effectively. Reporting directly to the Inventory Manager, you will also contribute to developing strategies for improving the accuracy and efficiency of our stock control systems.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain stock levels to ensure availability and adequacy at all times.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely stock replenishments.
  • Conduct regular stock audits to identify and address discrepancies in inventory records.
  • Implement effective stock control procedures to minimize stock loss and wastage.
  • Liaise with suppliers to address potential supply chain issues promptly.
  • Prepare and present stock management reports to the Inventory Manager regularly.
  • Ensure proper labeling and packaging of stock items for efficient storage.
  • Utilize inventory management software to track and manage stock levels accurately.
  • Work closely with warehouse staff to maintain organized and efficient stock storage areas.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize stock control processes and efficiency.
  • Support the finance department with inventory-related data for financial forecasting purposes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations regarding inventory control.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in a stock control or inventory management role desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage inventory effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with suppliers and internal teams successfully.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling stock records and reports.
  • Knowledge of supply chain operations and practices is highly advantageous.
