Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Specialist Periodontist to join a leading dental healthcare facility. The successful candidate will provide specialized periodontal care, diagnose and treat diseases of the gums and supporting structures of the teeth, and perform advanced periodontal and implant-related procedures while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive periodontal examinations and assessments.
  • Diagnose and manage gingivitis, periodontitis, gum recession, and other periodontal conditions.
  • Develop individualized periodontal treatment plans based on clinical and radiographic findings.
  • Perform scaling, root planing, periodontal maintenance, and other non-surgical periodontal treatments.
  • Perform periodontal surgical procedures, including flap surgery and crown lengthening.
  • Perform soft-tissue grafting and treatment of gingival recession where qualified.
  • Perform bone grafting and other regenerative periodontal procedures where appropriately trained.
  • Provide periodontal assessment and treatment planning for dental implant patients.
  • Perform implant placement and related procedures where qualified.
  • Manage peri-implantitis and other implant-related periodontal conditions.
  • Perform aesthetic periodontal procedures to improve gingival contours and smile aesthetics.
  • Monitor treatment outcomes and provide appropriate long-term periodontal maintenance.
  • Collaborate with general dentists, prosthodontists, orthodontists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, and other dental specialists.
  • Educate patients regarding oral hygiene, periodontal disease prevention, and maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, treatment plans, and clinical documentation.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and Continuing Medical Education (CME).
  • Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare authority regulations, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • BDS / DDS / DMD or equivalent recognized dental degree.
  • MDS / MSD / Specialty qualification in Periodontics or equivalent recognized postgraduate qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of post-specialization experience as a Specialist Periodontist.
  • Strong clinical experience in surgical and non-surgical periodontal treatment.
  • Experience in implant dentistry and periodontal regenerative procedures is preferred.
  • Excellent clinical, communication, and patient management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary dental team.
