Job Description

As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the head chef to manage daily operations within the kitchen, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to perfection and delivered to guests with the highest standards of quality and presentation. You will play a crucial role in menu planning, food preparation, hygiene, and kitchen staff management. A sous chef must have exceptional culinary skills, creativity, and a passion for delivering memorable dining experiences. You will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring that safety and sanitation standards are met. Your role is pivotal in supporting our culinary leadership to create outstanding guest experiences and maintaining a harmonious kitchen environment.


Responsibilities

  • Assist the head chef in menu planning and recipe development processes.
  • Supervise and coordinate daily kitchen activities and staff schedules effectively.
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness and sanitation are maintained in the kitchen.
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation standards in collaboration with the head chef.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff to enhance team efficiency and skill levels.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess supplies.
  • Implement and enforce strict health and safety regulations within the kitchen.
  • Assist in managing kitchen budgets and optimizing cost control strategies.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of ingredients.
  • Address customer feedback to enhance dining satisfaction and restaurant reputation.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative culinary techniques and presentations.
  • Ensure that all food served meets the restaurant's quality and taste standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a sous chef or in a similar culinary role.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills are essential.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Creative problem-solving skills with a passion for culinary arts.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills are required.
  • Culinary degree or similar professional qualification is preferred.
