Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing kitchen operations effectively.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Coordinate kitchen staff schedules to maintain seamless kitchen operations.
  • Oversee food preparation processes and ensure adherence to recipes and guidelines.
  • Maintain inventory levels and communicate ordering needs to management promptly.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to maintain high culinary standards.
  • Monitor food storage and wastage control to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained and repaired promptly as necessary.
  • Assist in the development and testing of new recipes for seasonal menus.
  • Review kitchen safety and sanitation practices to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Act as kitchen lead in the absence of the Head Chef, managing operations effectively.
  • Collaborate with culinary team to enhance guests' dining experience consistently.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in a restaurant kitchen as a Sous Chef or similar role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations and practices.
  • Exceptional culinary skills with extensive knowledge of cooking techniques and principles.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to manage and inspire the kitchen team.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure and fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • A culinary degree or equivalent certification from a recognized culinary school preferred.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
