Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Sonographer to join our healthcare team and contribute to diagnosing and monitoring medical conditions using ultrasound imaging technology. As a Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients, ensuring the comfort and confidentiality of patients at all times. Your expertise will play a critical role in detecting, recording, and securing images for physicians to accurately diagnose and manage patient health conditions. You will work collaboratively with other medical professionals, maintaining high standards of care, and ensuring that equipment is used effectively and maintained in excellent working condition. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and possess a compassionate nature for providing care to patients.


Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures following established protocols and standards of practice.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the ultrasound examination process.
  • Assess and monitor patient responses during procedures, addressing any concerns promptly.
  • Collaborate with physicians to analyze ultrasound results, providing accurate and detailed images.
  • Maintain detailed records of procedures performed and patient information for future reference.
  • Calibrate, maintain and ensure the effective operation of ultrasound equipment daily.
  • Prepare exam rooms for ultrasound procedures, ensuring cleanliness and sterilization of equipment.
  • Explain the ultrasound procedure to patients and answer any questions they may have.
  • Recognize and respond to emergency situations, applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Stay updated on the latest ultrasound technology advancements and healthcare protocols.
  • Assist in training and supervising junior sonographers or radiology students as required.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure image accuracy and ultrasound machine functionality.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Sonography or related field of study.
  • Certification from an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program preferred.
  • Minimum of two years' experience working as a professional Sonographer.
  • Valid credential in Diagnostic Medical Sonography .
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills suitable for patient interaction.
  • Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment and exercise critical thinking skills.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures related to sonography.
