Job Description

The Service Advisor is a crucial liaison between the customer and the automotive repair department, responsible for ensuring a seamless and satisfactory service experience. This role involves providing expert advice to customers, addressing their queries, and coordinating with the service team to facilitate timely and efficient vehicle repairs and maintenance. The Service Advisor must possess excellent communication skills, thorough automotive knowledge, and impeccable organizational abilities. They play a significant part in achieving customer satisfaction by ensuring that service jobs are completed correctly and in a timely manner. Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly and provide welcoming, personalized service experience in the service department.
  • Listen to and understand customer needs and concerns to propose solutions effectively.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of available automotive maintenance and repair services.
  • Generate and explain detailed service quotes, ensuring client clarity and authorization.
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling to optimize the workflow and resource allocation.
  • Liaise between customers and the service team to ensure clear communication of repair processes.
  • Monitor service progress, providing customers with regular updates on job statuses.
  • Review completed repairs with customers and ensure customer satisfaction before vehicle handover.
  • Handle customer complaints with tact and professionalism, seeking swift resolutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of all service transactions and interactions in company systems.
  • Assist in the training of new staff on service procedures and customer service techniques.
  • Promote additional services or products that may benefit the customer or vehicle performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional mechanical coursework is advantageous.
  • Proven experience as a Service Advisor or in a similar automotive service role.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems, repair methods, and service processes.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle multiple client interactions.
  • Excellent organizational ability to manage a busy workload and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and experience with service management software.
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical information in an accessible manner.
