Senior Technician - GSE Electrician

Job Purpose

As directed by the supervisors, lead a team of Technicians to provide required support to Operational teams, carrying out all scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance, servicing, fault finding and repair of all equipment /vehicles and plant maintained by various dnata Technical Services Workshops to ensure functional reliability to meet the 24 hour requirements of the operations. The job holder should be capable to work independently to ensure maximum serviceability of the equipment.

In This Role You Will

Plan

• Plans activity on a daily basis in their area of work to deliver assigned tasks, supporting Technician & Junior Technicians as required.
• Ensures that relevant details of spares/tools required for carrying out maintenance activities are provided to the Supervisors/Maintenance Officer and/or Planning Staff well in advance to facilitate timely procurement of the same.
  
  

Lead

• Leads perform scheduled maintenance as per set standards (includes manufacturers recommendation, ISO certification requirements, safety standards, Civil Aviation Authority, Local & DM requirements) on the various equipment/ vehicles and plants to ensure reliable/ optimum utilization of the same.
• Trains and develops the team of technicians on maintenance, fault finding and safety procedures.
• Inspect all equipment/vehicles and plant in their area of responsibility, daily for operational reliability & safety, to help plan for corrective maintenance and to prevent accidents in the work area. Also carries out mandatory safety & quality checks of equipment/vehicles prior to releasing the same after completion of maintenance / repair.
• Ensures standard safety procedures are followed by the team of technicians/drivers during maintenance activities to prevent any personal injury or equipment damage.
  
  

Execute

• Diagnoses and repairs faults/defects effectively on equipment/vehicles and plants under breakdown ensuring that down time is minimized.
• Continuously suggests and implements modifications on the equipment/vehicle based on the required approvals from manufacturer & higher authorities to reduce maintenance costs and improve performance & safety of the same.
• Ensures good housekeeping is maintained in the workshop & other work areas and take proper care of tools.
• During scheduled and un-scheduled maintenance of equipment/vehicles and plant, identifies any potential or existing faults/failures and highlight same to Supervisors to initiate corrective action.
• Ensures all work-related activities carried out during the shift are recorded in the log book/work order to help planning staff log the details of work done in the Maintenance Management System.
  
  

Qualification

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

• High School (Minimum 10 years of schooling) with 2 years Trade certificate course in an engineering discipline.
• 4-6 years of experience in maintenance - Facilities/ Auto/ Electric Mechanic
• English level 5
• Thorough knowledge and experience (Theoretical & practical) in maintenance of mechanical/ electrical/ electronic/ automobile/ air-con & refrigeration systems of Ground Support Equipment or Heavy Vehicles or Material Handling Equipment/ Systems
• Theoretical & practical knowledge on hydraulics/ lifting equipment/ conveyor systems/ PLCs/ AC-DC motor control systems/ Traction batteries & chargers with minimum 2 years of experience would be an advantage.
• Effective communication in English (verbal & written).
• UAE Driving license / Home Country Driving License (not required in Cargo areas)
• Valid licence for operating equipment (ADP) (not required in Cargo areas)
