The Role:

As a Senior Sustainability Consultant (GCC) at NeuerEnergy, you’ll lead transformative sustainability initiatives across the Gulf region and APAC, supporting government entities, energy companies, financial institutions, and infrastructure developers to measure, reduce, and report their carbon emissions.

Reporting to the Sustainability Lead, you’ll assess environmental and social impacts, develop science-based reduction strategies, and collaborate closely with our product and tech teams to shape innovative Net-Zero tools for regional clients.

You’ll also play a key role in business development, client onboarding, and training, ensuring successful implementation of the NeuerEnergy platform. Your expertise will directly contribute to clients’ alignment with regional sustainability strategies, including the UAE Net Zero 2050, Saudi Vision 2030, and Qatar National Vision 2030 frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver Net-Zero and sustainability strategies for clients across the GCC, including government agencies, utilities, real estate, energy, and financial institutions.
  • Support clients in carbon foot printing, GHG inventory development (Scopes 1–3), and sustainability reporting.
  • Provide technical input on ESG disclosures aligned with IFRS S1 & S2, GRI, TCFD, and regional regulatory frameworks (UAE SCA, ADX, DFSA, Tadawul).
  • Champion customer onboarding and deliver exceptional platform and project support.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, policy alignment assessments, and decarbonisation roadmaps to guide investment and operational decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal tech teams to develop new tools, models, and processes that enhance sustainability insights and automation.
  • Support business development by participating in client meetings, conferences, and sustainability events across the GCC.
  • Stay informed of emerging regulations, carbon markets, and ESG frameworks in the region.

Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in sustainable development strategy, carbon management, and ESG reporting within the GCC or international markets.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality technical advice, reports, presentations, and training materials.
  • Strong understanding of regional frameworks and reporting schemes, such as:
    • UAE Climate Change and Net Zero 2050 Strategy, Saudi Green Initiative / Vision 2030, Qatar National Vision 2030
    • ESG guidelines by Tadawul / ADX / DFSA
    • IFRS S1/S2, GHG Protocol, and ISO 14064 standards
  • Excellent analytical, research, and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in fast-moving, cross-functional environments.
  • Pre-sales and client advisory experience, with an ability to interpret and present carbon and energy data meaningfully.
  • Outstanding communication skills, capable of engaging senior stakeholders and simplifying complex technical issues.
  • Experience in energy efficiency, carbon accounting, and decarbonisation planning.

Desirable:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in environmental engineering, sustainability, energy management, climate science, or a related field.
  • Certifications in one or more of the following:
    • ISO 14064 / 14067 / 14001/ 50001 (PNAC or UKAS accredited)
    • GRI Certified Sustainability Professional
    • LEED, BREEAM, WELL, or CEEQUAL Accredited Professional
    • IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards (S1/S2) or ESG assurance training
  • Experience in carbon markets, renewable energy, or sustainable finance.
  • Familiarity with UAE’s voluntary carbon market initiatives such as the AirCarbon Exchange (ACX) is preferred and regional carbon pricing mechanisms.
