Job Details

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the on-site structural engineering team to ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Manage daily structural supervision activities and coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to achieve project milestones and construction objectives.

Conduct regular inspections of structural elements, including foundations, retaining structures, columns, beams, slabs, walls, and other structural components to verify compliance with design and regulatory requirements.

Review and monitor construction methodologies, temporary works, and structural installations to ensure safe and efficient execution.

Implement and maintain quality assurance and quality control procedures for structural materials and workmanship, ensuring structural integrity and minimizing defects.

Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, inspection requests, and structural calculations submitted by contractors.

Perform additional structural assessments and calculations when required and provide technical guidance to resolve construction-related structural issues.

Coordinate closely with the Resident Engineer, Project Managers, Architects, MEP Engineers, and other disciplines to ensure seamless integration of structural works within the overall project.

Facilitate effective communication between project stakeholders and provide timely resolutions to technical and site-related structural concerns.

Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and contractual obligations.

Contribute to monthly progress reports and provide technical input as directed by the Resident Engineer.

Maintain accurate site records, including inspection reports, daily site reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective action reports, and other project documentation.

Ensure compliance with local building codes, international standards, health and safety regulations, and environmental requirements.

Participate in site meetings, technical reviews, and project coordination meetings as required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.

Minimum 13 years of relevant professional experience in structural engineering, including construction supervision of high-rise towers, hotel developments, and large-scale building projects.

Demonstrated experience in engineering consultancy, construction supervision, or project management consultancy (PMC) environments.

Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, construction practices, building systems, and applicable local and international codes and standards.

Proven ability to review structural designs, shop drawings, construction methodologies, and contractor submittals.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Excellent leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.

Ability to prioritize multiple assignments, manage workloads efficiently, and meet project deadlines.

Proficiency in structural engineering software and Microsoft Office applications.

Professional Engineer registration or equivalent certification is considered an advantage.
