The Senior Planning & Monitoring Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of engineering projects by developing, implementing, and maintaining project schedules. The professional is responsible for the effective coordination of resources, schedule forecasting, and progress tracking to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. They bring extensive experience in project management to oversee multiple projects while maintaining stringent timelines and adhering to industry standards and best practices. This role requires a combination of technical acumen, leadership capabilities, and excellent communication skills to identify project challenges early and mitigate risks effectively. The Senior Planning & Monitoring Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams, including project managers, technical experts, and stakeholders, to facilitate informed decision-making and foster an environment of continuous improvement.


Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project schedules utilizing industry-standard tools and methodologies for accurate project planning.
  • Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders to establish project timelines and resource requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and performance to ensure adherence to planned schedules and budgets.
  • Identify potential project risks and implement corrective actions promptly to mitigate delays.
  • Collaborate with technical and management teams for effective resolution of project-related issues.
  • Prepare detailed progress reports and presentations for stakeholders, ensuring transparency in project execution.
  • Analyze project data to forecast resource demands and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Provide leadership in planning and scheduling meetings, enabling team alignment and project coherence.
  • Utilize project management software to maintain up-to-date project documentation and records.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards through consistent quality checks and audits.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers and team members in project planning and monitoring processes.
  • Facilitate continuous process improvement to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in project planning and monitoring roles.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess project data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills to interface effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery on time and within budget constraints.
  • Ability to lead and mentor teams, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks.
  • Certification in project management (PMP or equivalent) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in project planning and execution.
