The Senior Mechanical Engineer is a key technical resource within the engineering team, responsible for leading, planning, and executing mechanical design projects from concept through to completion. The individual in this role will play a pivotal role in the strategic development of engineering practices, contributing to innovative solutions and the enhancement of existing processes. With a focus on quality, efficiency, and technological advancement, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, offering expertise and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians. As a senior member of the team, you will be expected to leverage your extensive mechanical engineering experience to navigate complex challenges, ensure compliance with industry standards, and drive project success. Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems.
  • Analyze project specifications and optimize designs to meet performance criteria.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate mechanical solutions effectively.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance as necessary.
  • Ensure all mechanical engineering projects comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Participate in design reviews to provide constructive feedback and technical insights.
  • Develop and implement best practices for mechanical design and engineering processes.
  • Prepare detailed engineering documentation including reports, specifications, and manuals.
  • Manage project timelines and resources to achieve project objectives within budget.
  • Research new technologies and methodologies to improve engineering capabilities and efficiency.
  • Conduct failure analysis and troubleshooting to improve existing mechanical systems.
  • Coordinate with procurement team to select and evaluate mechanical materials and components.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of eight years of experience in mechanical engineering roles or positions.
  • Proven experience with CAD software and mechanical design tools and applications.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, design processes, and material science.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with an ability to develop innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Effective communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Certification in relevant engineering or safety standards is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience working within a regulated industrial or manufacturing environment is advantageous.
