The Senior Legal Counsel plays a critical role within the legal department of an organization, providing expert legal advice to ensure the company's legal compliance and minimize risk exposure. Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice and counsel to senior management and executives on various legal matters.
• Negotiate, draft, and review complex contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with state, federal, and international regulations and laws.
• Develop and implement company policies, procedures, and compliance programs to mitigate risks.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings, including litigation, arbitration, and negotiation phases.
• Manage external legal counsel and legal resources effectively to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for legal perspectives on business operations and transactions.
• Conduct legal research and keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect the organization.
• Train and mentor junior legal staff and help in their professional development.
• Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations to the board of directors regarding legal matters.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in a corporate legal environment or law firm.
• Admitted to the bar and in good standing in the jurisdiction of practice.
• Demonstrated expertise in corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with attention to detail.
• Proven experience in handling complex legal transactions and negotiations effectively.
