Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to design ground engineering solutions for a wide variety of infrastructure and development projects across Dubai, the UAE and the wider Gulf region.

Parsons is now hiring a Senior Civil/Geotechnical Engineer with a desire to work on infrastructure projects that change the fabric of our community. We need our engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team oriented environment and who have exceptional communication, analytical and management skills. In this role you will provide technical supervision / leadership to plan and design earthworks, foundations and ground engineering in relation to bridges, railroads, roads, airports, harbours, dams, irrigation projects, pipelines, tunnels, power plants and other projects.

The Senior Engineer also analyzes proposed projects to ensure geotechnical reliability, resource efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The role includes a variety of engineering duties including guidance to less-experienced engineers, and meeting with Clients, Authorities and other Stakeholders to discuss technical matters and secure approvals.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prioritizes and delivers multiple projects / tasks in parallel, reporting to the Technical Director in the Dubai Sector, and the MEA Regional Director (Geotechnical).
• Prepares complex geotechnical engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately, including soil-structure interaction analysis where required.
• Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable.
• Prepares engineering computations, material quality takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs including specifications.
• Prepares Scopes / Specifications for Ground Investigations, and obtains market quotations for same, reporting to Parsons Project Manager.
• Reviews supplier drawings, reports and data submissions and performs technical bid analyses.
• Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
• Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
• May be required to provide the seal and signature of the Professional Engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations and ordinances.
• May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
  
  
  

What Required Skills Youll Bring

• Bachelors degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (or related field) and 8+ years of related work experience.
• Minimum 2+ years relevant design experience in the UAE.
• Strong technical knowledge of current technologies and good engineering practices.
• Management and self-motivation to deliver multiple tasks and projects.
• Teamworking skills to work with Engineers and Technicians at all levels of experience.
• Good working knowledge of relevant computer software for analyzing ground engineering solutions.
• Fluent English (both spoken and written) is essential.
  
  
  

What Desired Skills Youll Bring

• Professional Engineer, Chartered Engineer or equivalent registration is an advantage.
• Masters degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (or related field) is an advantage.
