We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Financial Controls Team Lead to oversee and strengthen the financial controls framework across Aggreko’s Africa operations. This role requires a strategic leader with deep expertise in financial controls, risk management, and compliance, who can lead a team to ensure robust financial integrity, mitigate risks, and support business objectives.

What You’ll Do
- Lead and develop the Africa financial controls team, promoting a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive financial control policies, procedures, and frameworks aligned with Aggreko’s global standards and local regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the execution of internal controls testing, financial audits, and compliance reviews to identify control gaps and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate closely with finance, operations, and external auditors to ensure timely and effective resolution of control issues.
- Drive risk assessment initiatives and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard company assets and financial data.
- Provide expert guidance and training to business units on financial controls, fraud prevention, and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor key financial control metrics and prepare detailed reports for senior management and the Africa Finance Director.
- Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial controls and reporting processes.
- Support the implementation of financial systems and automation tools to strengthen controls and data accuracy.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on financial control risks and compliance matters.
You’ll Have The Following Skills And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CIMA highly preferred.
- Minimum 8-12 years of progressive experience in financial controls, internal audit, or risk management, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of financial control frameworks, SOX compliance, IFRS, and local regulatory requirements in Africa.
- Proven experience leading teams and managing complex financial control projects in a multinational environment.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple countries and cultures within Africa.
- High integrity, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
