Job Description

As a Senior Embryologist, you will play a crucial role within our fertility team, carrying out advanced laboratory procedures to support successful reproductive outcomes for patients seeking fertility treatments. You will be responsible for handling gametes, preparing embryos for implantation, and providing high-standard embryological evaluations and treatments. With your expertise, you will contribute significantly to the growth and developmental success of embryos. Furthermore, you will be responsible for maintaining laboratory standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing educational support to junior staff. Your role will also involve contributing to ongoing research and implementing innovative techniques to improve clinical outcomes.


Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures with precision and accuracy.
  • Conduct intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) to facilitate successful fertilization outcomes.
  • Prepare and assess quality of embryos for transfer and freezing processes.
  • Handle cryopreservation, including the thawing and vitrification of gametes or embryos.
  • Monitor embryonic development stages with advanced tracking and assessment techniques.
  • Maintain lab equipment, ensuring all tools are functional and calibrated correctly.
  • Adhere to all clinical laboratory safety protocols and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Compile and analyze embryological data to inform patient treatment plans and success rates.
  • Collaborate with medical professionals for effective communication of patient care needs.
  • Record laboratory findings accurately and maintain detailed documentation of procedures.
  • Supervise and mentor junior lab technicians, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on embryology techniques.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Biology, Reproductive Science, or a closely related field.
  • At least five years of relevant experience within an embryology laboratory environment.
  • Proficiency in performing a range of IVF techniques, including ICSI and embryo biopsy.
  • In-depth knowledge of cryopreservation techniques involving gametes and embryos.
  • Strong analytical skills for monitoring and evaluating embryonic development stages.
  • Excellent attention to detail and meticulous documentation skills in clinical settings.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and communicate clearly.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and patient privacy at all times.
  • Solid understanding of laboratory equipment, quality assurance, and safety measures.
