The Senior Benefits Analyst will provide group benefits consulting support, including design and financial management for existing and new clients and prospects. The Senior Benefits Analyst will work closely with internal consulting teams, interface with vendors, support client deliverables, and ensure quality standards are met.
The Senior Benefits Analyst Will
- Contribute to the overall design and management of group medical, dental, life, disability and special risk benefits for clients.
- Lead annual renewal analysis and negotiations with carriers; prepare client reports and presentations
- Conduct experience reporting, budget projections and reviewing plan financial performance
- Review financial statements for accuracy and adherence to underwriting agreements
- Conduct marketings by preparing and submitting specifications, analysis, cost comparisons, recommendations, preparing report
- Gather data and determine cost impact for plan design changes
- Monitor carrier/provider services standards
- Support the consulting team in preparing documents for client presentations and meetings
- Participate in industry conferences, seminars, etc. in order to keep abreast of industry trends and activities
- Build relationships with clients, carriers, and internal, cross-functional teams
Other Responsibilities May Also Include, As Needed
- Conduct plan design benchmarking studies
- Review all benefits documentation (contracts, booklets, collective agreement, amendments) for accuracy
- Prepare/review master application and all other documentation for new sales submissions
- Monitor implementation process to ensure deadlines met, questions answered, all forms completed in order to meet effective date.
- Prepare detailed plan design documents using excel template and update when required
- Investigate and assist with resolving ad hoc claims and coverage issues for clients
To be successful as a Senior Benefits Analyst with People Corporation, you will need:
- Post secondary diploma or degree in business, mathematics or related disciplines.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in analyst or related role in group benefits.
- Advanced competency with Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Ability to manage and prioritize competing demands in order to meet client and company needs.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

The base salary for this position is between $70,000 - $90,000 annually.
This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc.). The actual base salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
