POST: Secondary School Laboratory Technician at Safa Community School, Dubai

Currently, we are in search of a dynamic and passionate Laboratory Technician (secondary school) to join our highly accomplished secondary department.

The successful candidate will already be residing in Dubai.

The Role

As a Laboratory Technician, you will support the delivery of high-quality science lessons by preparing practical materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and efficient laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and set up materials, equipment, and solutions for science lessons (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics).

Support teaching staff during practical lessons, where appropriate.

Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure resources are well-stocked.

Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, including COSHH and CLEAPSS guidelines.

Safely store and dispose of chemicals and biological materials.

Keep an accurate inventory of equipment and supplies.

Assist with the organisation of science displays and resources.

Person Specification

Essential

  • A science-related qualification (e.g., GCSEs/A Levels or equivalent).
  • Good deminstrable understanding of laboratory safety procedures.
  • Good deminstrable understanding of CLEAPSS guidance and compliance.
  • Organised, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working in a school or laboratory setting.
  • IT literacy (Microsoft Office, inventory systems, Google Suite).

The Application Process Is

  • All applications must be submitted on the TES Portal. Only applications submitted through the Portal will be considered.
  • Only applications of cadidates already residing in Dubai will be considered.
  • Submit an up to date, full resume / CV.
  • Submit a covering letter of no more than two A4 pages.
  • Provide at least three referees’ names, telephone numbers (with international dialling codes), and email addresses. One must be a current employer.
  • The closing date for all applications is Tuesday, 30th September 2025 at 10h00 UAE time.
  • Applications will be assessed in order of receipt and interviews may occur at any stage after applications are received. We reserve the right to appoint before the closing date and therefore invite interested candidates to apply as soon as possible.
  • Once initial interviews are concluded, arrangements will be made individually with those candidates who will proceed to the second round of interviews.

Upon request, feedback will only be provided to candidates who progress to the interview stages.
