About The Job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the Catering Department in Dubai, the Sales Manager - Conference & Banqueting is responsible for securing and coordinating all conferences, events, and catering business—both in-house and off-site—by managing client relations, ensuring operational alignment, and driving revenue while delivering seamless, high-quality experiences. Sales Manager - Conference & Banqueting reports to the Director of Conference & Events.

As a Sales Manager - Conference & Banqueting, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Manages and grows Catering and Events revenue by achieving sales targets, upselling services, following leads, negotiating contracts, and understanding market trends.
  • Coordinates closely with internal teams (Sales, Banquet Operations, Reservations, F&B, Rooms Division) to ensure smooth execution of events and seamless guest experiences.
  • Prepares and distributes all event-related documentation including proposals, contracts, BEOs, and group resumes, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients and colleagues, provides personalized service, addresses feedback, and fosters customer loyalty and repeat business.
  • Ensures compliance with company standards on data entry, information security, file management, and attends key meetings to stay aligned with operational plans.
  • Participates actively in site inspections, sales calls, client entertainment, and uses on-the-job training tools to support team development and uphold brand standards.

As a Sales Manager - Conference & Banqueting, we expect from you:

  • Holds a Degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality, Hotel, or Business Management with at least 3 years of relevant experience in hotel or administrative sales roles.
  • Has prior experience in Conference & Events or Sales at a managerial level, preferably within a luxury hotel environment.
  • Proficient in computer applications, with specific experience using Delphi and strong overall technical skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills, with the ability to anticipate guest needs and work independently under pressure.
  • Possesses strong organisational, time management, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
  • Displays a friendly, positive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills, fluent in English.
