Job Description

A Sales Engineer is an integral part of the sales and engineering teams, providing crucial technical knowledge to assist with sales strategies and client interactions. They serve as a bridge between customer needs and company offerings, translating technical details into compelling customer solutions. Striking a balance between technical understanding and salesmanship, Sales Engineers work to close deals by demonstrating how products and services provide value. They often collaborate with a team, and may work on acquiring new clients or maintaining existing relationships. Their role can include traveling to meet clients, conducting presentations, and working closely with the sales team to understand the potential client's business challenges and craft the right solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand client requirements and offer tailored solutions.
  • Provide comprehensive product information and demonstrations to potential and existing customers.
  • Translate complex technical information into easily understandable terms for diverse audiences.
  • Support the sales process with technical expertise and strategic input to close deals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Assist in identifying and developing new business opportunities within a given territory or portfolio.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, product developments, and competitor activities.
  • Work closely with product development teams to provide customer feedback and suggestions for improvements.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and proposals that align with customer needs and company goals.
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to align technical presentations with marketing strategies.
  • Ensure communication of customer feedback to appropriate channels for action and support.
  • Handle all technical queries and support issues related to products during pre-sales discussions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in sales engineering or a similar technical sales role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to understand and convey complex technical information clearly and effectively.
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills, with a customer-focused attitude.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales productivity tools.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events as required.
