Job Description

The role of a Sales Engineer is pivotal in bridging the gap between complex technical products and customer needs. As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for understanding the technical intricacies of the company's products and effectively communicating their benefits to prospective clients. You are tasked with not only selling but also advising on how these technical solutions fit into the customer’s operations, enhancing productivity and efficiency. This role demands a strong technical background coupled with excellent interpersonal skills. You will work closely with the sales team to identify customer needs, provide technical support, and ensure customer satisfaction. Your ability to translate technical language into clear, compelling information that builds rapport and leads to successful sales is crucial.


Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the company’s technical products and offerings.
  • Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations for potential clients.
  • Assist in gathering customer requirements to tailor solutions appropriately.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute sales strategies.
  • Provide post-sale technical support to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Maintain and update a comprehensive record of sales calls and customer interactions.
  • Work with product development teams to convey customer feedback and needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed technical and commercial offers.
  • Keep up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
  • Participate in trade shows, seminars, and networking events to promote products.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs.
  • Train and mentor junior members of the sales engineering team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Proven track record in sales and technical support roles within the industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective client relationships.
  • Ability to explain complex technical information in layman's terms.
  • Experience in using CRM software and sales tracking tools effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or within a team.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, presentations, and industry events.
