Job Description

The role of a Purchasing Manager is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of a company's supply chain. As a Purchasing Manager, you will oversee the procurement of goods and services, ensuring that quality products are purchased at competitive prices and delivered on time. You’ll maintain and improve relationships with suppliers and vendors, while also leading a team that is responsible for managing the company’s procurement strategies and policies. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies for procurement efficiency.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, timeliness, and service.
  • Manage the purchasing team to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Monitor procurement data analytics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Create and enforce purchasing policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Forecast demand to ensure the availability of products and services needed.
  • Ensure timely resolution of supplier-related issues impacting production or distribution.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align purchasing strategies with organizational needs.
  • Stay updated on market trends and supply sources to adapt purchasing strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills with vendors and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Experience in managing and leading a diverse team effectively.
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification is preferred.
