We are looking for a Service Engineer – Propulsion Control Systems to handle installation, commissioning, diagnostics, and maintenance of advanced propulsion control and monitoring systems used in marine vessels.

Location - Dubai

Experience Required - 3 To 5 Years

What will you be doing:

  • Installation and Commissioning (New or retrofit) of Propulsion control system, Tuning, Troubleshooting and repairing of propulsion control systems (pitch, load, thrust, joystick, DP integration)
  • Perform onboard commissioning, retrofits, and periodic maintenance
  • Analyze system logs, trends, and alarms for performance tuning and fault diagnostics
  • Interface with clients, shipyards, and OEM partners professionally
  • Generate technical reports and service documentation

To be successful, you will need the following: 

  • Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in marine automation/control systems (preferably propulsion or thruster controls-(Controllable pitch propellers(CPP),Steerable Thrusters, Retractable Thrusters, Waterjets etc..)
  • Strong understanding of Various types of Drive motor Starter panels (Auto transformer, Soft Starter, VFDs etc.)  and electrical circuits.
  • Strong understanding of PLC, HMI, and fieldbus communication protocols (e.g., CAN bus, Modbus, Profibus)
  • Knowledge in Hydraulic system.
  • Hands-on experience with Electro/Hydraulic pitch control systems
  • Willingness to travel and work onboard vessels or offshore platforms

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Wärtsilä Engine controls systems
  • Excellent fault-finding and root cause analysis skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Self-motivated and safety-conscious
