Job Description

A Project Engineer plays a critical role in the successful planning and execution of engineering projects, bringing a blend of technical expertise and project management skills. This role is pivotal in coordinating various technical teams and interfacing with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met. The Project Engineer is responsible for developing project plans, managing schedules, budgets, resources, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and regulations. They act as a bridge between the technical team and management, facilitating communication and ensuring the project is progressing according to plan. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and equipped with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. As a Project Engineer, you will work in a dynamic environment that requires you to be flexible while maintaining a high standard of engineering excellence.


Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project plans to track progress and ensure alignment with goals.
  • Manage the project lifecycle from concept through to completion, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Coordinating with cross-discipline teams to ensure all aspects of the project are compatible.
  • Oversee project resources and budget to optimize expenditure and project profitability.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to communicate project status, progress, and any issues that arise.
  • Ensure projects are completed in accordance with all relevant engineering codes and standards.
  • Identify project risks and work on mitigation strategies to avoid project delays.
  • Conduct performance reviews of project staff and provide feedback and support for development.
  • Supervise technical staff to ensure high-quality work and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Prepare and present project reports to upper management and stakeholders as required.
  • Implement quality assurance and control processes to enhance project deliverables.
  • Work closely with clients to ensure their needs and expectations are met or exceeded.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline is required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in engineering project management roles.
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and project management principles.
  • Proficient in project management software tools such as Microsoft Project or similar.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage diverse teams effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure project success.
