Job Description

An Estimator is a crucial role within the construction and manufacturing industries, tasked with assessing and managing project costs to ensure profitability and alignment with company objectives. Responsibilities

  • Evaluate bid proposals and ensure they are competitive and within budgetary constraints.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate and current pricing information.
  • Use industry-standard software to develop clear and concise estimates and quotations.
  • Track and manage project expenses throughout its lifecycle for budget adherence.
  • Prepare detailed cost analysis reports to help guide project decision-making processes.
  • Incorporate feedback from stakeholders into estimates to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes to ensure competitive pricing strategies.
  • Identify potential risks and formulate mitigation strategies during the estimation process.
  • Participate in project negotiations to explain cost findings and defend estimates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in an estimating role, in relevant industries.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and strong computing skills are essential.
  • Understanding of construction methods, materials, and project management principles.
  • Strong analytical skills and an aptitude for working with technical data and spreadsheets.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to persuade effectively.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality in all estimate-related tasks.
