Product Officer - Executive

The Role

The fintech company is building an AI-native digital banking platform targeting Sharia-compliant financial services for Muslim communities and other underbanked populations globally. The platform combines Islamic finance principles with mobile-first banking, halal investing, Zakat management, and financial wellness tools.

The Product Officer will own product vision, strategy, and execution from the earliest stage of the company. This is a founding-team role based in the UAE, working directly alongside the founders. The scope covers taking the product from zero to launch and into early scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap from pre-launch through early scale.
• Make scoping decisions for v1, including what is included, what is excluded, and what constitutes an acceptable launch standard for a regulated bank.
• Build the product function from scratch, including hiring the first product managers and designers and establishing how product work is structured and executed.
• Embed AI into the core product experience, not as an isolated feature.
• Incorporate Sharia-compliance requirements and UAE Central Bank (CBUAE) regulation as design inputs from the outset.
• Work as an equal owner of outcomes alongside engineering, design, and the founding team.
  
  

First 60 Days

• Produce a clear product vision and strategy aligned with the founding team.
• Deliver a dated roadmap to launch with explicit scope decisions for v1.
• Establish the product operating model, including how product, engineering, and design collaborate.
• Produce a hiring plan for the product function with the first roles scoped and searches initiated.
• Define WHERE how AI is embedded in the product experience.
  
  

Required

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated track record of building a consumer product from scratch and scaling it to 10 million or more users, or comparable mass-consumer scale.
• 0-to-1 product leadership: owned a vision, shipped it, and grown it independently rather than optimising an existing product.
• Ability to build and lead a high-calibre product team while remaining close to execution detail at an early stage.
• Strong product judgment in ambiguous conditions, with the ability to move quickly without compromising requirements that matter in a regulated environment.
  
  

Not Required

• Banking, fintech, or neobank experience is explicitly not required. Candidates from consumer product backgrounds including super-apps, marketplaces, social, gaming, e-commerce, and mobility are considered.
  
  

Preferred

• Experience shipping AI-driven consumer products.
• Exposure to regulated, trust-heavy, or payments-adjacent products.
• Familiarity with the UAE or wider MENA consumer market.
