Job Description

The Procurement Officer is a key player in the supply chain team, responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods, materials, and services that meet the company’s operational needs. This role requires evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing budgets while ensuring quality standards and timely delivery. The Procurement Officer actively collaborates with various departments to understand their procurement needs and works to maximize the value of every dollar spent. Strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a thorough understanding of supply chain management are crucial for success in this role. This position serves as a vital link between the organization and suppliers, ensuring that procurement activities support the company's goals and objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that are aligned with company objectives.
  • Manage day-to-day procurement activities and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed to meet business needs.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure the best terms for the organization.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important procurement data.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to determine procurement needs, quality specifications, and delivery terms.
  • Monitor market trends and supplier performance to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or supplier performance in a timely manner.
  • Maintain healthy relationships with vendors and suppliers to support reliable partnerships.
  • Analyze and report on procurement metrics to track and manage expenses and supplier performance.
  • Develop and maintain a list of qualified suppliers ensuring a diversity of options.
  • Coordinate with the finance department to ensure accurate financial reporting and budgeting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar procurement role.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage vendor and supplier relationships.
  • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management software and processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to present data clearly and effectively.
  • Solid understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in managing procurement records and reports.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors.
