As part of our growing team, we are seeking an experienced and passionate PE Lead who will take ownership of our Physical Education and Health program, foster a positive sporting culture, and lead the implementation of a well-rounded PE curriculum that promotes fitness, teamwork, and character development.

Job Overview

The PE Lead will be responsible for developing, leading, and coordinating the PE curriculum across all grade levels. The role includes teaching, curriculum planning, organizing school-wide sports events and inter-school competitions, and promoting healthy, active lifestyles among students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physical education, leadership experience, and a commitment to whole-child development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of the PE curriculum aligned with American curriculum standards.
  • Deliver high-quality PE lessons that engage students in fitness, movement, games, and sportsmanship.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment for all students.
  • Promote student participation in extracurricular sports, inter-house competitions, as well as community wellness initiatives.
  • Collaborate with school leadership and teaching teams to integrate physical wellness into the broader curriculum.
  • Organize and lead school sports events, such as Sports Day and friendly tournaments.
  • Ensure the appropriate use and maintenance of all sports equipment and facilities.
  • Mentor and support other PE staff and contribute to their professional development.
  • Use assessment data to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
  • Contribute to the school’s health and well-being initiatives in line with KHDA guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or Sports Science (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Teaching license/certification.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of PE teaching experience, preferably in an American curriculum school.
  • Proven leadership experience in a similar role is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of physical development, fitness, and sports coaching for children across grade levels.
  • Proven track record of leading students to win competitions and tournaments.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience organizing school-wide events and promoting school sports programs.
  • Familiarity with KHDA health and safety requirements in PE settings.
