Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pharmacist to join our team at our busy pharmacy group. As a Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal wellness of our customers through the precise dispensation of medications and providing expert pharmaceutical care. You will be responsible for managing prescriptions, advising healthcare providers, and counseling patients on proper medication usage. Our ideal candidate is someone who is analytically inclined, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent communication skills. You will work closely with the healthcare team to ensure every patient receives the best possible pharmaceutical care, fostering a healthy and informed community.


Responsibilities

  • Review and accurately dispense prescriptions to patients according to state and federal regulations.
  • Provide detailed information on medications and their proper usage to patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain strict inventory control of all medications and supplies within the pharmacy.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmaceutical laws and guidelines.
  • Safeguard and ensure the safe handling of controlled drugs and substances.
  • Oversee and manage pharmacy technicians, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Collaborate actively with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication plans.
  • Conduct regular health screenings and administer immunizations where permitted by law.
  • Develop and implement policies to improve pharmacy services and operations.
  • Monitor prescription details to prevent harmful drug interactions or overmedication issues.
  • Submit accurate paperwork and documentation for all pharmaceutical transactions and operations.
  • Engage in continual education to stay updated with emerging pharmaceutical practices and policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or a Pharm.D. from an accredited institution.
  • State licensure as a Pharmacist, in good standing and without past infractions.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terms, dosage calculations, and interactions.
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks in a busy pharmacy environment.
  • Commitment to observing confidentiality and ethical practice standards consistently.
  • Experience with pharmacy management software and technology systems preferred.
