Performance And Technique Analyst Level 2

High Performance Sport NZ (HPSNZ) is seeking a Performance and Technique Analyst (PTA) to join our team. This role represents a fantastic opportunity to contribute to Rowing New Zealand’s ongoing legacy of performance excellence.

This role will impact performance across multiple domains including performance feedback, performance monitoring, strategy analysis, technique and positioning analysis, data management and visualisation, innovation and technology and performance modelling.

Alongside key task delivery, you will bring an analytical lens into performance conversations to contribute to objective decision making and planning. Strong working relationships, and alignment with key decision makers (coaches and the sport leadership team) is a requirement for success in this role. This will be a collaborative role operating within a sport-embedded multi-disciplinary performance support team. Therefore, the ability to work in a team setting, and build and maintain robust relationships is critical.

This current role is suited to individuals with a substantial background in provision of performance and technique analysis support to elite athletes. Previous experience working in high performance rowing is desirable. Candidates are expected to have a post graduate degree in sport science, engineering, or related science.

Successful candidates may be required to provide support regionally and internationally at competitions and training camps. The role is primarily based at Rowing New Zealand’s Lake Karapiro facility, with possible occasional work from our Cambridge facility, and may also involve supporting other sports as required.
