Job Description

A Patient Coordinator plays an integral role in the healthcare industry as the primary liaison between patients and medical staff. Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments and follow-up visits efficiently.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for patient communications and inquiries.

  • Communicate with medical staff to convey patient information and urgent needs.
  • Facilitate patient check-in and check-out processes in a timely manner.
  • Assist patients in understanding their treatment plans and medical instructions.
  • Manage patient complaints and resolve issues with empathy and professionalism.
  • Coordinate with insurance companies to verify patient coverage and benefits.
  • Educate patients about clinic policies and procedures for a smooth experience.
  • Implement improvements to patient flow and reduce wait times effectively.
  • Provide support to medical staff with administrative and clinical tasks as required.
  • Assist in coordinating patient transfer and referrals to other healthcare facilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years experience in a healthcare or customer service role.
  • Proficiency in medical scheduling software and electronic health records systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Empathetic and patient-focused approach in all interactions with patients.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information securely.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare practices.
  • Flexible availability, including occasional weekends or evenings if needed.
