Job Description

A Paint Technician is an integral part of the manufacturing and production team, responsible for applying coatings to a range of products to enhance appearance, durability, and performance. This professional plays a crucial role by ensuring that all painted components meet quality standards and customer specifications. The Paint Technician must have a keen eye for detail, a steady hand, and knowledge of different paint types and application processes. Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming surfaces as necessary.
• Select and mix appropriate paint or coating media to achieve desired color and finish.
• Apply paint or coatings using brushes, rollers, or sprayers to designated surfaces.
• Inspect finished surfaces to ensure quality standards and identify any necessary touch-ups.
• Maintain and clean painting equipment, such as spray guns and hoses, post-application.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment at all times.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure painting projects meet production deadlines.
• Record and report any defects or issues found in the painted surfaces to supervisors.
• Order and manage painting supplies inventory to ensure adequate stock is on hand.
• Stay updated on new techniques and technologies in paint application processes.
• Ensure compliance with all industry laws and regulations concerning paint application.
• Perform routine maintenance on painting equipment to prevent future malfunctions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is often required for this position.
• Previous experience in a painting, coating, or similar technical role is beneficial.
• Proficiency in handling various paint application tools and equipment is essential.
• Familiarity with safety protocols in painting and coating application processes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality paint finishes.
