Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon to join a leading healthcare facility. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive surgical care for patients with complex conditions affecting the mouth, jaws, face, and associated structures, while working closely with dental and medical specialists to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive oral and maxillofacial surgical consultations and clinical assessments.
  • Diagnose and manage complex conditions involving the oral cavity, jaws, face, and neck.
  • Perform oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures according to clinical expertise.
  • Perform surgical extraction of impacted and complicated teeth.
  • Manage facial trauma, jaw fractures, and other maxillofacial injuries.
  • Perform dentoalveolar and pre-prosthetic surgical procedures.
  • Manage infections and cystic lesions of the jaws and oral cavity.
  • Perform bone grafting and other reconstructive procedures where qualified.
  • Manage benign and malignant lesions of the oral and maxillofacial region in collaboration with oncology teams.
  • Perform orthognathic and corrective jaw surgery where qualified.
  • Perform implant-related surgical procedures where appropriately trained.
  • Provide pre-operative assessment and post-operative care.
  • Interpret relevant dental and medical imaging, including panoramic radiographs, CBCT, CT, and MRI.
  • Collaborate with orthodontists, prosthodontists, periodontists, ENT specialists, plastic surgeons, oncologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical risks, benefits, and expected outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, operative notes, and clinical documentation.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and Continuing Medical Education (CME).
  • Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare authority regulations, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols.
  • Participate in on-call duties and emergency maxillofacial coverage as required.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • BDS / DDS / DMD or equivalent recognized dental degree.
  • MDS / MS / DNB / FRCS / equivalent recognized postgraduate qualification in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
  • Minimum 3 years of post-specialization experience as an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon.
  • Strong experience in oral surgery, dentoalveolar surgery, and maxillofacial trauma.
  • Experience in complex oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures is preferred.
  • Excellent surgical skills, clinical judgment, communication, and patient management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary dental and medical team.
